Symon Perriman is a Technical Evangelist for the
Developer and Platform Evangelism corporate team at Microsoft, based
near
Seattle Washington. His specialties include Windows Server,
High-Availability, Virtualization, System Center and Private Cloud, and he
presents to hundreds-of-thousands of IT Professionals every year
about datacenter technologies at industry events, customer
engagements, webcasts and technical trainings.
He has contributed to several technical books, has several patents
(pending) and is also a primary
contributor to Microsoft's
TechNet Edge
website for IT Professionals.

As the President and Founder of
FanWide Technologies
(FanWide LLC), Symon directs
mobile and web development, technical consulting, domain name and trivia
services. FanWide has worked with over 250 contractors to produce
several websites and over 80 mobile apps on four platforms, including MobileQs, the top trivia
game for BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7. Symon
started coding in 1997, began working in the tech industry in 2002, and
started at Microsoft in 2006 on the File Server team. He spent 2007
through 2011 on the Server High-Availability team as a Program
Manager for the Failover Clustering and Network Load Balancing
technologies. There he designed features, managed the product
release cycle and led community programs contributing towards the
products' most successful releases ever. |

Symon is an alumnus of Duke University
(North Carolina). There he was an active member of the Beta
Theta Pi fraternity and the Vice President of the Duke Investment
Club. Symon graduated with a double major (B.S.) in Computer Science
and Economics, as well as receiving a Certificate in Film, Video and
Digital Studies. He also took additional classes in computer science
and business at Johns Hopkins University (Maryland) and in economics at
the London School of Economics (England). |

Symon
was born in England and lived there until age 9 when his family moved to the US.
While living in Madison (New Jersey), Symon attended
Newark Academy in Livingston, served as the captain of
his (American) football team. He was also an active member of the track team, community service
council, quiz bowl team and Boy Scouts. He earned his Eagle Scout award
after a service project collecting thousands of books for school
libraries and American troops serving overseas.
Symon
currently lives in downtown Seattle. He enjoys technology, college
basketball, NFL, UFC, foosball, golf, Frisbee, classic rock, electronic
music, movies, modern art, classic painting, blackjack strategy,
juggling and other ‘circus arts’. He has traveled extensively
throughout the US, Europe
and the Americas.
